Times wedding policies and deadline explained

Area weddings and engagements are highlights of the Bryan Times lifestyle section, "Times and Trends."
The Times offers engagement and wedding forms, free of charge, to persons wishing to place an article in the local newspaper.
These forms will assist in providing the names with the proper information needed to write the article.

Engagements
The engagement announcement precedes the wedding story and is usually brief. A picture of the bride-elect or engaged couple will be printed one-column wide with the following information: names of couple, parents' names and addresses, education. occupation, wedding date, time and place. Soft focus pictures are NOT suitable for newspapers, please ask the photographer for a sharp, clear photo. in total focus!
The editor will decide if the picture is suitable. All pictures must be clear and in sharp focus to reproduce well in the newspaper.

Weddings
The Bryan Times has the following policies and deadlines regarding wedding pictures and writeups:

To have a full account of a wedding with picture, the information/picture must be in the Times office prior to or up to 12 weeks from the wedding date. There will be NO exceptions!.

If the wedding information is received in the Times office from three to six months after the wedding date, a picture with brief cutline or small article will be published.

Only a short notice - NO picture - will be published if information is received in the Times office six months or later after the wedding date.
The Bryan Times is a daily newspaper. Weddings, anniversaries and/or social events 6 months and older are NOT news, they are history.

Wedding Pictures
Wedding pictures are printed two columns wide if they are of the bridal couple or one column wide if of the bride only. Photos are never run length, but are cropped at waistline or at the hands of persons pictured.
When choosing a photo to bring to the newspaper. pick one that is clear with the faces close up. Waist-up pictures are best. Do NOT submit full length photos or soft focus photos please! After the picture has appeared in the Bryan Times. It should be picked up as soon as possible.
The Bryan Times does not charge for engagements, weddings or anniversaries as they are considered social news (if they meet deadline requirements).

Photos emailed should be JPG/high quality with at least 300 resolution.
