EDON — A large senior class and a whole lot of experience will highlight Edon’s girls basketball team when the Bombers take the floor for the 2021-22 season.

Edon finished 7-12 overall last season, including 5-7 in the Buckeye Border Conference.

Eight letterwinners, including five with multiple years of varsity experience, will be leading the Bombers.

Carlie Kiess, a 5-foot-6 senior point guard and three-year letterwinner, returns after earning second-team all-BBC recognition last season and honorable mention as a sophomore.

Junior guard Emma Hickman (5-5), senior guard Kerrin Towers (5-6), senior forward/guard Ashley Kaylor (5-6) and senior forward Breanna Heinze (5-6) each have multiple years of experience as well. Seniors Allison Kaylor (5-6 center), Natalie Spackman (5-6 guard) and Olivia Mitchell (5-7 guard) also lettered a year ago.

“We have eight returners from last season. They work hard, compete and have done a great job of bringing our younger girls along,” said Edon coach Caela Walker, who enters her fifth year at Edon with a 42-45 record.

Junior forward Jenna Dulle (5-7) completes the varsity roster. The Bombers also have 10 players out on their junior varsity team.

“We have some young kids doing some nice things,” Walker said. “We are excited to continue to develop them and put them in positions to grow and compete.”
