PETTISVILLE — Montpelier’s Garrett Walz, Tylor Yahraus and Thomas Jay each bucketed 12 points to help the Locomotives get a 49-46 win over Pettisville in a Buckeye Border Conference boys basketball win Friday at Pettisville High School.

Gavin Stratton also contributed eight points for Montpelier (9-7, 6-4 BBC).

Cayden Jacoby dropped a double-double with team highs in points (18) and rebounds (15) for the Blackbirds (13-5, 9-2). Max Leppelmeier added 13 points and five assists.

Stryker takes care of Hilltop

WEST UNITY — Stryker dominated the first half against Hilltop 25-7 and rode that momentum the rest of the game for a 53-17 BBC win Friday at Hilltop High School.

Spencer Clingaman scored a game-high 15 points for the Panthers (8-10, 6-4 BBC). Kaleb Holsopple and Jamison Treace each added nine points.

Carson Jennings had a team-high seven points for the Cadets (1-19, 0-12).

Fairview falls to Hicksville

SHERWOOD — Hicksville’s Jackson Bergman dropped a game-high 28 points to help propel the Aces to a 58-41 win against Fairview in a Green Meadows Conference game Friday at Fairview High School.

Caleb Frank had a team-high 15 points for the Apaches (9-7, 2-3 GMC). Luke Timbrook contributed nine points, while Cade Ripke added eight.

Mason Slattery added 12 points for Hicksville (8-10, 3-4). Brody Balser and Landon Turnbull each had eight points.
