MONTPELIER — Montpelier’s boys basketball team scored 20 or more points in three quarters and knocked down 11 3-pointers in cruising past Hamilton (Indiana) 71-22 in a nonconference game Saturday.

Garrett Walz buried four 3-pointers en route to a game-high 14 points, while Tylor Yahraus had three 3s and 12 points for the Locomotives (6-1). Thomas Jay was also in double figures with 10 points as 10 Montpelier players scored.

Dawson Miller’s seven points led Hamilton.

Edon topples Fayette

FAYETTE — Three Edon players scored in double figures Saturday as the Bombers’ boys basketball team returned from nearly a month without playing a game to post a 46-29 Buckeye Border Conference victory over Fayette.

Drew Gallehue notched 13 points for Edon (2-1, 2-0 BBC), which last played on Dec. 12. Destin McCartney added 11 points, while Jack Berry chipped in 10. Cassius Hulbert had nine points.

The Bombers used a 21-7 advantage in the second half to pull away for the win.

Phillip Whiteside knocked down three 3-pointers and had 11 points to lead Fayette (3-3, 2-3 BBC).

PETTISVILLE — Pettisville jumped out to a 31-14 halftime lead en route to knocking off Edgerton 50-27 in a nonconference boys basketball game Saturday.

Cayden Jacoby racked up 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Max Leppelmeier chipped in 17 points and three assists for Pettisville (6-1).

Corey Everetts scored six points to lead Edgerton (2-3). Cameron Hicks and Craig Blue both added five points.

Archers knock off Eagles

PIONEER — Antwerp’s boys basketball team erupted for 50 points in the first half against North Central on Saturday to post an 81-24 nonconference victory.

Jagger Landers (24 points), Owen Sheedy (13) and Luke Krouse (11) each hit three 3-pointers for Antwerp (9-0). Hunter Sproles also scored in double figures with 12 points.

Colin Patten had nine points to lead North Central (1-5).

Lakewood Park beats North Central

AUBURN, Ind. — Lakewood Park Christian (Indiana) built a 19-9 lead after the first quarter and cruised past North Central 72-45 on Friday in a nonleague boys basketball game.

Caedmon Bontrager tallied 24 points, while Carter Harman hit three 3-pointers and added 13 points for Lakewood Park.

Joey Burt’s 12 points led North Central. Colin Patten and Cohen Meyers both chipped in nine points.
