SHERWOOD — Fairview gave No. 1-ranked Antwerp all it could handle on Saturday, but the Archers used a big second half to knock off the Apaches 61-50 in a Green Meadows Conference boys basketball game.

Antwerp (18-1, 6-1), the second-ranked team in the latest Division IV Ohio Associated Press poll, clinched the outright GMC title with the win.

Jagger Landers scored 23 points, including 10-of-11 free throws, while Austin Lichty added 19 points for Antwerp. The Archers trailed 14-11 after the first quarter and used a 32-24 advantage in the second half to get the win.

Antwerp made 24-of-32 free throws, while Fairview (9-8, 2-4 GMC) made 8 of 10.

Caleb Frank’s game-high 24 points powered the Apaches. Russ Zeedyk and Jackson Grine added nine and eight points, respectively.

Stryker falls

STRYKER — Stryker’s boys basketball team had its three-game winning streak snapped Saturday with a 31-19 loss to Ottawa Hills in nonleague play.

The Panthers fell to 8-11, while the Green Bears improved to 7-2.

No stats on the game were reported.
