Bryan’s baseball team jumped out to an early lead and didn’t look back, as it hung seven runs in the first inning en route to an 8-3 win over Hicksville.
Benny Roebuck earned the win on the mound on three innings pitched. He allowed two hits, one run and struck out seven.
At the plate, the Golden Bears had seven hits — Logan Clemens had a single and two RBIs to lead the way. Connor Arthur and Breven Deckrosh added doubles, too.
The Bears are now 17-9 overall.
Edon 11, Stryker 9
A strong start didn’t help Stryker, as Edon scored runs in the first five innings and took home a two-run win.
Edon scored three runs in the first two innings, yet still trailed 7-6. The Bombers scored five runs in the third through fifth innings, though, and jumped ahead for the win.
Austin Kiess went 4-for-4 with five RBIs to lead all hitters, on both teams. Daryke Bass added a 2-for-3 effort with an RBI, too. The Bombers (11-11, 8-4 Buckeye Border Conference) were aided by six Panther (10-11, 6-6 BBC) errors.
Gavin Campbell and Thomas Bost had three hits for the Panthers, but that wasn’t enough to undo the defensive miscues.
Just four of Edon’s 11 runs were earned.
Edon 17, Stryker 7
Edon jumped ahead of Stryker early and took a 10-run win in five innings on Monday.
The Bombers scored in every inning and had 13 hits en route to the win. The win lifted Edon to 11-7 on the year and 8-2 in the conference.
The Panthers (5-12, 5-6 BBC) took an early lead, but couldn’t keep pace with the Bombers. Courtney Stewart had three hits — two singles and a triple — and Haylee Fulk had two, both singles.
