ST. MARYS — Bryan girls soccer was blanked 4-0 by nonleague opponent St. Marys Memorial on Tuesday.
Despite allowing four goals, goalkeeper Calysta Wasson had 15 saves.
“Another tale of two completely different halves of soccer,” Bryan girls soccer coach Adam Subasic said after the Golden Bears dropped to 2-5-1 overall. “The first half saw both teams taking chances and playing shot for shot. We possessed the ball well and created a few opportunities against their high back line but couldn’t find the final pass or shot. Meanwhile, St. Marys used their speed to create chances from a few crosses.
“The second half opened up play and we were unable to stop their attacks up top. Their goals came from corners, crosses, and individual skill that we were unable to defend.”
The Roughriders improved to 3-3-1 with the win.
The Golden Bears will look to bounce back against NWOAL foe Liberty Center at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Liberty Center.
