Bryan will face a familiar foe to start tournament play as the OHSAA boys basketball tournament draws for the Northwest District were conducted Sunday afternoon.

The Golden Bears (4-13) received the No. 9 seed in the Division II Spencerville District and will travel to Napoleon to face the No. 6 Wildcats (9-7) in a sectional semifinal at 7 p.m. Feb. 23. Napoleon knocked off Bryan 55-38 in a nonleague contest on Dec. 19.

The winner will face No. 3 St. Marys Memorial (13-4) at 7 p.m. Feb. 26 at St. Marys.

Lima Shawnee (17-1) received the No. 1 seed, while Wauseon (15-2) earned the No. 2 seed.

In the Division IV Defiance District, Edgerton received the No. 5 seed to lead area teams. The Bulldogs (9-7) will host No. 9 Holgate (8-11) at 7 p.m. Feb. 24 in a sectional semifinal.

The winner will face the No. 3 Pettisville (13-4)/No. 7 Hicksville (7-10) winner at 7 p.m. Feb. 26 at the better seeded team’s site.

Montpelier (8-6), the No. 8 seed, will travel to No. 6 Fayette (8-8) for a 7 p.m. sectional semifinal on Feb. 23. Montpelier edged its Buckeye Border Conference rival 60-57 in triple overtime on Jan. 4, then beat the Eagles 28-26 on Jan. 7.

The winner will square off with the No. 4 Ayersville (10-7)/No. 10 Toledo Emmanuel Christian (5-5) winner at 7 p.m. Feb. 26.

Two sectional semifinal matchups will feature area BBC teams, with No. 11-seed Edon (6-8) hosting No. 13 North Central (4-12) at 7 p.m. Feb. 24 and No. 12 Stryker (6-10) hosting No. 14 Hilltop (1-18) at 7 p.m. Feb. 23. The Edon/North Central winner will head to Toledo Christian to face the No. 2 Eagles (14-3) at 7 p.m. Feb. 26, while the Stryker/Hilltop winner will travel to Antwerp to take on the No. 1 Archers (15-1) at 7 p.m. Feb. 26.

In the Division III Lima Senior District, Fairview (9-6) was tabbed the No. 6 seed. The Apaches will host No. 9 Allen East (9-9) at 7 p.m. Feb. 24.

The winner advances to take on the winner between No. 4 Coldwater (10-9) and No. 10 Paulding (6-8) at 7 p.m. Feb. 26 at the better seeded team’s site.

Ottawa-Glandorf (13-3) earned the No. 1 seed, while Wayne Trace (15-5) received the No. 2 seed.
