Bryan’s Allie Zimmerman jumps and heads the ball during a nonleague girls soccer match against Defiance on Oct. 9 at Recreation Park.

Bryan’s Allie Zimmerman earned second-team all-Ohio girls soccer honors in Division II from the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association on Monday.

Zimmerman, a senior who earned her third letter for the Golden Bears’ girls soccer team this year, fronted Bryan’s offensive attack with a team-high 14 goals despite missing several matches with a knee injury.

Her scoring ability helped the Golden Bears finish 15-1-2 this season, including a 4-0-2 record in the Northwest Ohio Athletic League to earn a share of their first conference title in school history. Bryan outscored its opponents 58-19 en route to its historic season.

This isn’t the only recognition Zimmerman has received because of her skills on the pitch this year, either.

Zimmerman was the NWOAL player of the year and for the second straight year earned both first-team all-NWOAL and first-team all-district by the OSSCA.
