EDGERTON — Edgerton’s Hunter Burke and Kale Merillat finished third and fourth, respectively, in leading the Bulldogs to a win over Swanton, Hilltop and Liberty Center on Tuesday.
Edgerton finished with 24 points, while Swanton had 45. Hilltop had 52 points.
Liberty Center had three of the top five finishers, but did not field a complete team.
Edgerton’s girls team finished second with 40 points, while Liberty Center had 20 to win. Hilltop and Swanton had runners compete but did not field complete teams.
Burke finished in 18:37, while Merillat was right behind in 18:38 to pace Edgerton. Cole Meyer (19:37) was seventh, Hayden Herman (19:58) eighth and Mason Goebel (21:39) 15th for the Bulldogs.
Wade Wagner finished ninth in 20:34 and Joe Reamsnyder 10th in 20:40 to lead Hilltop.
Liberty Center’s Nathaniel Elieff (17:03) beat teammate Matthew Marlow (18:04) by more than a minute to earn medalist honors.
For the girls’ race, Stefanie Thiel placed second in 20:33 to lead Edgerton. Liberty Center’s Makayla Meller won in 20:28.
Ashlee Hug (sixth in 21:30) and Natalie Kellogg (23:45) finished sixth and ninth, respectively, for Edgerton. Holly Stark (24:52) was 13th and Cailyn Brobst (25:20) 15th for the Bulldogs.
Jacquelyn Wagner (26:43) finished 18th for Hilltop.
