AYERSVILLE — Fairview’s track and field teams both posted third-place finishes, while Edgerton’s Owen Roth and Carter Herman combined for three individual victories at the Green Meadows Conference Championships on Friday at Ayersville High School.

The Apaches’ boys scored 73 points to edge Antwerp (72). Tinora cruised to the team title with 152 points in ending Fairview’s streak of five straight GMC titles.

Ayersville (86) was second in the boys standings and Edgerton (43) sixth.

Wayne Trace’s girls (128) beat Tinora (120) for the team title. Fairview finished with 70 points and Edgerton was sixth with 41.

Roth and Herman, a pair of sophomores for the Bulldogs, were the only area athletes to win events.

Roth defended his GMC titles in the sprints as he crossed the finish line first in the 100-meter dash (11.47 seconds) and 200 (23.44). Herman got the top spot in the 300 hurdles (41.78).

Jeffrey Smith posted four second-place finishes to front Fairview’s boys. He took second in the high jump (6-0), 110 hurdles (16.42), 300 hurdles (42.37) and 1,600 relay (3:37.81) with D’Andre Hastings, Kyle Rabe and Weston Minic.

Kaiden Kern added a second-place finish in the long jump (20-2.25) for the Apaches and teamed up with Hastings, Jace Chapman and Bryar Williams to finish third in the 400 relay (45.73). Chapman, Williams, Minic and Kaiden Kern also grabbed fifth in the 800 relay (1:39.09).

Rabe got third in the 800 (2:07.71), fifth in the 1,600 (4:59.06) and fourth in the 3,200 relay (9:04.54) with Minic, Braylin Snyder and Carson Sims. Hastings also added a third-place finish in the 400 (55.02) and sixth-place finish in the 100 (11.98), and Williams was fourth in the 110 hurdles (16.74).

Caden Thompson was fifth in the discus (114-2) as well for Fairview.

Fairview’s girls had multiple runner-up finishes.

Kaitlyn Zeedyk was second in the long jump (16-7) and added a sixth-place finish in the 400 (1:09.84); Julia Arend leaped for second in the high jump (4-10); and Cheyenne Zeedyk got runner-up in the 1,600 (5:36.73) and teamed up with Kaitlyn Zeedyk, Abby Smith and Savanna Singer for second in the 1,600 relay (4:27.42).

Cheyenne Zeedyk also took third in the 800 (2:32.82) and the 3,200 relay (11:09.97) with Addyson Harwell, Samantha Rohrs and Summer Hiler. Singer got fourth in the 100 hurdles (18.83).

Kylie Gates jumped to fourth in the long jump (15-1.50), joined Smith, Natalie Timbrook and Kaitlyn Zeedyk for fourth in the 400 relay (55.25) and teamed up with Smith, Singer and Courtney Bennett for fifth in the 800 relay (1:58.86).

Rohrs finished fourth in the 3,200 (13:09.56) and sixth in the 1,600 (6:14.25), and Hiler crossed the finish line for sixth in the 3,200 (14:26.25). Smith placed fourth in the 300 hurdles (52.40) and Molly McGuire was sixth in the pole vault (7-6).

Heidi Meyer’s second-place finish in the 100 hurdles (17.59) and third-place showing in the 300 hurdles (50.70) led Edgerton’s girls.

Meyer also posted two fourth-place finishes as a part of relay teams. She ran with Taylor Smith, Clara Gerschutz and Luisa Rudersdorf in the 800 relay (1:57.71) and joined Smith, Rudersdorf and Cailyn Brobst in the 1,600 relay (4:34.78).

Rudersdorf, Brobst, Elissa Bowen and Natalie Kellogg finished fourth in the 3,200 relay (11:18.74), while Charlotte Blalock finished fourth in the discus (90-8). Smith was fifth in the 400 (1:07.95).

Gretchen Keppeler was fifth in the high jump (4-6) and sixth in the discus (87-2); Rudersdorf got fifth in the 800 (2:37.30); Anna Vermillion crossed the finish line for fifth place in the 3,200 (14:04.58); and Brobst got sixth in the 800 (2:42.50). Gerschutz, Kayt Timbrook, Addie Cape and McKenna Warner also took sixth in the 400 relay (57.93).

Roth, Herman, Dakota Burke and Nate Timbrook grouped together for third in the 800 relay (1:35.96) and fifth in the 400 relay (46.82); Herman contributed a fifth-place finish in the 110 hurdles (16.93) and Hayden Herman took fifth in the 3,200 (11:24.53) for the Bulldogs’ boys.

Blake Flower also placed sixth in the discus (110-1) for Edgerton.
