The Edon volleyball team beat visiting Hilltop in four sets on Tuesday to take a firm grasp on the Buckeye Border Conference lead.
Senior Riley Bloir led the Bombers with 12 kills, adding nine digs, two blocks and an ace. Claire Radabaugh facilitated, contributing 13 assists and 10 digs, while Zoe Maier added seven digs and nine assists of her own. Brooklyn Morris had eight kills and an ace.
Taryn Grant and Kendall Roth led the Cadets with nine kills apiece, while Morgan Norden added three kills and Katelynn Smith and Alex Horton pitched in with two apiece. Roth also led the team in digs, with six, while Grant added four digs. Arleigh Van Arsdalen led with 12 assists while Kacy Connolly contributed 11 assists.
Edon bumps its record to 11-6, including 9-2 in the BBC, and extends its winning streak to eight games. The Bombers will travel to Pettisville on Thursday for the last game of their regular season. Hilltop falls to 13-8 on the year, including 8-3 in the BBC. The Cadets have now lost three in a row and are 3-8 since starting the season by winning their first 10 games. Hilltop will cap off its regular season by hosting Montpelier on Thursday.
Stryker 3, Montpelier 0 (25-12, 25-9, 25-12)
The Stryker volleyball team finished its regular season by sweeping home team Montpelier on Tuesday night.
Makenzie Cadwell led the Panthers with 27-for-29 hitting, resulting in 11 kills, while Kalista Blevins added five kills of her own. Kinsey Myers added 14 assists, and Haylee Fulk had seven assists. Cadwell, Myers and Fulk each had three aces. Sage Woolace had a team-high 11 digs.
Stryker finishes its regular season with a record of 7-15, including a 5-7 mark in the BBC. Its next game will be against Edon on Oct. 15 in a sectional tournament semifinal. Montpelier’s record drops to 2-18, including 1-11 in the league. The Locos will end their regular season visiting Hilltop on Thursday.
Wayne Trace 3, Edgerton 2 (26-24, 25-16, 20-25, 23-25, 15-9)
Despite clawing back from two sets down, the Edgerton volleyball team dropped a tight one on the road to Wayne Trace on Tuesday night.
Emma Siebenaler had the most kills for the Bulldogs with 15, while Heaven Imm added 13 of her own. Coral Picillo had 53 digs on the night, while Imm added 25 digs and Ally Cape added 13 digs. Cape also led Edgerton with 21 assists.
Edgerton drops to 6-15 on the year, including 1-5 in the Green Meadows Conference. The Bulldogs will conclude their regular season on Thursday by hosting Ayersville.
