LEIPSIC — Fairview’s volleyball team kept Monday’s match against Leipsic close.

Unfortunately for the Apaches, though, they couldn’t pull off the win.

Fairview kept each set within four points, but the Vikings ultimately won 26-24, 25-23, 25-21 in nonconference play at Leipsic High School.

Haley Hammer handed out 27 assists and contributed three kills (6-of-7 spiking) and seven digs for the Apaches (5-4). Kelly Crites slammed 11 kills (22-of-25 spiking), stuffed four total blocks (three solo, one assisted), fired two aces (12-of-12 serving) and had nine digs.

Carrie Zeedyk added two aces (11-of-11 serving) and nine digs, while Paige Ricica hammered eight kills (23-of-28 spiking) and collected 10 digs.
