Hilltop earned the top seed in the Division IV Bryan District, while two area teams received a No. 2 seed as the OHSAA softball tournament draws for the Northwest District were conducted Sunday afternoon.
The Cadets (18-3) will open with No. 13 Fayette at 5 p.m. May 10 in a sectional semifinal at Hilltop High School. The winner advances to take on No. 12 Holgate at 5 p.m. May 13 at the better seeded team’s site.
Bryan (17-1) earned the No. 2 seed in the Division II Lima/University of Northwestern Ohio District. The Golden Bears will host the winner between No. 7 Van Wert and No. 9 Napoleon in a sectional final at 5 p.m. May 14 at Recreation Park.
Lima Bath received the No. 1 seed, Lima Shawnee was third and Elida fourth.
Fairview also received a No. 2 seed in the Division III Lima District. The Apaches (16-1) will host the winner between No. 7 Findlay Liberty-Benton and No. 8 Allen East at 5 p.m. May 14 in a sectional final at Fairview High School.
Elmwood earned the top seed, while Van Buren and Paulding were third and fourth, respectively.
In the Division IV Bryan District, Edgerton (10-10) was tabbed the No. 3 seed and will host the winner of No. 7 Miller City and No. 8 Pettisville at 5 p.m. May 13 in a sectional final.
Two area teams will square off in a sectional semifinal as No. 5 North Central (8-10) will take on No. 11 Stryker (4-7) at 5 p.m. May 10 at North Central. The winner advances to take on the No. 6 Hicksville/No. 10 Continental winner at 5 p.m. May 13 at the better seeded team’s site.
Edon (3-10) received the No. 9 seed and will head to Antwerp to take on the No. 4 Archers at 5 p.m. May 10. The winner will take on No. 2 Ayersville at 5 p.m. May 13 at Ayersville High School.
In the Division III Maumee District, Montpelier (4-13) was tabbed the No. 12 seed. The Locomotives will head to No. 7 Archbold at 5 p.m. May 11 for a sectional semifinal, with the winner advancing to take on No. 2 Eastwood at 5 p.m. May 14 at Eastwood High School.
Otsego earned the No. 1 seed, while Swanton and Lake were Nos. 3 and 4, respectively.
