Fairview 76, Hilltop 27
The Hilltop girls basketball team struggled early against Fairview, trailing 46-13 at halftime and eventually falling to the Apaches 76-27 on Tuesday night.
Kodi Brenner led Hilltop in scoring, the only Cadet in double-figures with 13 points. Alex Horton added seven points. Leanna Baker, Jayma Bailey and Jozlyn Jones scored two points apiece, and Morgan Norden rounded out the Cadets’ scoring with one point.
Carrie Zeedyk paced the Apaches with 19 points, adding four assists and three rebounds. Riley Mealer pitched in with 16 points and a team-high six steals. Kiersten Cline added 11 points, while Cassie Mavis scored eight points and Olivia Ricica contributed seven points. Allison Rhodes and Taylor King had five points apiece, while Michelle Marshall had three points. Paige Ricica (two points) and Karrie Smith (one point) also got on the stat sheet for Fairview.
Hilltop’s record drops to 4-10 overall, including 1-7 in the Buckeye Border Conference. The Cadets will host Toledo Christian (13-0, 5-0 Toledo Area Athletic Conference) on Saturday. Fairview is now 9-4 overall, 2-0 in the Green Meadows Conference, and will take on Holgate (1-12, 1-1) in a road game on Friday.
Archbold 64, Stryker 25
The Stryker girls basketball team dropped its third straight contest on Tuesday night, a 64-25 decision on the road to Archbold.
Stryker is now 6-9 on the year overall, including 3-4 in the BBC. The Panthers will host Pettisville (2-11, 2-6) on Friday.
