Matt Wisler found another home on the Fourth of July.
The San Diego Padres traded Wisler, for the second time in his career, on Thursday to the Seattle Mariners for cash considerations.
Wisler, a Bryan High School graduate of 2011, was designated for assignment by the Padres on June 29.
This season, Wisler, 26, made 21 relief appearances for the Padres. He threw 29 innings, allowed 17 earned runs, struck out 34, walked 10 and posted an ERA of 5.28. His record was 2-2.
Seattle will be the fourth organization that Wisler plays for in his career. He was originally drafted by the Padres in 2011 in the seventh round. He chose to sign with the Padres rather than attend Ohio State.
He then played for the Braves and Reds organization before being traded back to the Padres on April 1 of this year.
Wisler is on the Mariners 40-man roster and was in the bullpen, available to pitch, on Friday night.
