WAUSEON — Montpelier senior Hunter Burlew blistered Ironwood Golf Course with a 4-over 76 to earn medalist honors and lead the Locomotives to a third-place finish at the Wauseon Invitational on Monday.
The Locos finished with 341, while North Central was sixth in the nine-team tournament with a 370.
Findlay Liberty-Benton (327) edged Wauseon (329) for the team title.
Ethan Marihugh backed Burlew up with an 82 to finish tied for sixth. Easten Richmond added an 89 and Aidan Higbie had a 94 for Montpelier.
Collin Patten (83) and Zach Hayes (84) fired sub-90 rounds to lead North Central. Mason Sanford shot 96 and Ben Pettit 107.
SWANTON — Edgerton’s Noah Landel carded two birdies in his 3-over 39 en route to earning medalist honors and leading the Bulldogs over Liberty Center and Hicksville in a boys golf tri-match Monday at White Pines Golf Course.
Edgerton shot a 188. Hicksville was second with a 214, while Liberty Center shot a 238.
Esten Kennerk backed Landel with a 45, while Kaden Kennerk shot a 47 for Edgerton. Preston Bartlett had a 57.
Liberty Center’s Jacob Croninger and Hicksville’s Maverik Keesbury both shot 52 to lead their respective teams.
Fairview girls 3rd
VAN WERT — Lorelle Hetrick and Emily Singer posted top-six finishes Monday as Fairview’s girls golf team finished third in the Lincolnview Lady Lancer Invitational at Willow Bend Country Club.
Hetrick led the Apaches with a 91, which was good for fourth individually. Singer was right behind with a 92 to tie for sixth.
Andrea Macsay shot a 105 and Eva Wermer 108 to complete Fairview’s score of 396.
Wayne Trace’s Kenadie Daeger earned medalist honors after shooting a 69. The Raiders won the team title with a 367, while Fort Recovery was second with a 377.
