ANTWERP — North Central’s baseball team got off to an early 1-0 lead after the top of the first inning, but Antwerp scored 10 unanswered runs — with eight of them coming in the bottom of the fourth — to give the Eagles a 10-1 nonconference loss on Monday at Antwerp High School.
Kaiden Russell singled and drove in the lone run for North Central (10-8). Zack Hayes, Brandon Baker and Sam Wheeler all hit a single to round out the Eagles’ four hits.
Keanu Miller got the loss on the mound. Miller threw three innings and allowed eight runs (seven earned), eight hits and six walks. He fanned one batter of the 24 he faced.
Hunter Sproles homered, singled and had four RBIs to front the Archers (12-4). Chase Clark (single, RBI) also homered, while Luke Krouse doubled, singled and drove in two runs.
Krouse also started on the mound and got the win. He tossed four innings and fired four strikeouts, allowed two hits, two walks and one run (earned).
Both teams committed two errors.
