North Central senior Kendal Bonney was named all-Ohio for the second straight year, while Hilltop junior Gabby Rodriguez also earned recognition as the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association released its all-state selections for the 2021 season.

Bonney, a two-time Buckeye Border Conference player of the year, earned third-team all-Ohio in Division IV after being named honorable mention a year ago. The 6-foot outside hitter stuffed the stat sheet with 405 kills, 287 assists, 183 digs, 74 total blocks and 54 aces in leading the Eagles to a 19-5 overall record, including 6-1 in the BBC.

Bonney also became the first player in school history to surpass 1,000 career kills.

Rodriguez, meanwhile, earned honorable mention in Division IV. The junior middle hitter led the Cadets to a 20-6 overall record, their first BBC title since 2004 after going 7-0 and Hilltop’s first Division IV regional appearance in 27 years. Rodriguez tallied 421 kills, 203 digs and 34 aces for the season.
