TOLEDO — Bryan’s baseball team mustered just one hit off Bellevue’s Dalton Fuchs as the Golden Bears lost 6-0 in a nonleague game on Saturday at Mercy Field in Toledo.
Fuchs tossed a complete game and had six strikeouts with one walk. Preston Ray had two of Bellevue’s four hits at the plate.
Nolan Kidston’s single was the lone hit for Bryan (7-11).
Titus Rohrer took the loss on the mound after allowing five runs on two hits in 4 1/3 innings. He had eight strikeouts and four walks.
Taysen Deckrosh pitched the final 1 2/3 innings and allowed a run on two hits, with two strikeouts and one walk.
The Golden Bears will close out Northwest Ohio Athletic League play at 5 p.m. Monday with a game at Archbold (13-4, 4-2 NWOAL). Bryan (5-1 NWOAL) is one game back of Wauseon (6-0), which clinched a share of the league title Friday and can win it outright by beating Patrick Henry on Monday.
Locos take down Blue Jays
TOLEDO — Montpelier’s Collin Crisenbery and Blake Altaffer combined for six hits and five RBIs as the Locomotives knocked off Delphos St. John’s 12-2 in five innings in a nonleague baseball game Saturday at Mercy Field in Toledo.
The Locos (13-5) scored seven runs in the third inning and four in the fourth to get the win.
Crisenbery doubled, singled twice and drove in two runs while Altaffer had three hits and three RBIs. Jaxon Richmond added two hits and Ethan Marihugh singled and drove in three runs for Montpelier. David Bowman singled and had two RBIs.
Richmond earned the win on the mound after allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits in five innings pitched. He had four strikeouts and a walk.
Brady Zalar had two hits, Brady Kerner singled and drove in a run and Gavin Fittro doubled to lead Delphos St. John’s.
