WAUSEON — Hilltop’s volleyball team took the first two sets against Wauseon, but the Indians made a comeback.
Wauseon won the last three sets to earn a 15-25, 20-25, 25-14, 25-17, 16-14 nonconference victory over the Cadets on Monday at Wauseon High School.
Gabby Rodriguez pummeled 15 kills on 45-of-50 spiking, collected 10 digs and had six assisted blocks for Hilltop (15-5). Jayma Bailey added seven kills (19-of-23 spiking) and 15 digs.
Kacy Connolly dished out 33 assists on 105-of-107 setting with three aces (16-of-16 serving) for the Cadets.
The Indians improved to 14-6.
MONTPELIER — Montpelier’s volleyball team couldn’t stop Hicksville as the Aces earned a 25-4, 25-17, 25-19 nonconference sweep on Monday at Montpelier High School.
Ariel Page hammered five kills, fired three aces and stuffed three blocks for the Locomotives (9-11). Chelsea McCord added five kills, while Cadey Hillard collected 21 digs. Kelsie Bumb also handed out 10 assists.
Molly Crall smashed 13 kills, had nine digs and two blocks for Hicksville (15-5). Aubrie Baird had 22 assists, four aces and six digs.
Stryker falls to Ayersville
STRYKER — Stryker’s Mallori Blevins smacked seven kills on 19-of-22 spiking and fired two aces on 4-of-7 serving in Ayersville’s 25-21, 25-16, 25-14 nonconference victory over the Panthers on Monday at Stryker High School.
Sage Woolace also collected 20 digs for Stryker (7-13), while Emma Fulk had 13. Haylee Fulk dished out eight assists and Kaitlyn Myers, five.
The Pilots improved to 14-6.
