Project Engineer Spangler Candy Company, a world class candy manufacturer is currently seeking a Project Engineer to ﬁll a full time salaried position. Spangler Candy is a family-owned private company founded in 1906. Our well-known and loved brands include Dum Dums, Saf-T-Pops, Spangler Candy Canes, Spangler Circus Peanuts, Necco Wafers, Sweethearts, Canada Mints and Bit-O-Honey. The Project Engineer will coordinate and manage engineering and technical development projects. Primary responsibilities include: Providing investigation, leadership, direction, and resources to resolve process problems. Facilitates and contributes to the development of project plans and designs. Analyzes equipment, systems, processes and systems to identify modiﬁcations to improve efﬁciency, increase quality and reduce costs. Collaborates with the operations department to identify and troubleshoot problems. Creating updated electrical circuit designs that follow the guidelines set by the NEC during machine or electrical rebuilds/updates. Assists the safety department with electrical machine safeguarding techniques that conform to OSHA guidelines. Providing technical advice and performing project analysis/justiﬁcation, and recommending new equipment or modiﬁcations to existing equipment for presentation and approval. Qualiﬁed candidates will demonstrate the following: • Bachelor’s degree in related engineering discipline required. • 3 +years of experience working in the engineering ﬁeld in a manufacturing setting. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Excellent budgeting and cost containment skills. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Strong analytical and problem solving skills • Use logic to analyze, problem solve, explore alternatives and develop appropriate solutions. • Able to effectively organize and manage multiple assignments with challenging timelines and adapt to changing priorities. • Successful candidate will possess a positive, supportive and team oriented attitude. • Strong proﬁciency in Microsoft Ofﬁce package.
