MONTPELIER - Fire destroyed a pole barn Wednesday morning at 09518 Ohio 107.
"We got the call at 1:28 a.m.," Fire Chief Dail Fritsch said in a phone interview Wednesday afternoon. "It was fully involved when we got there."
The 40- by 65-foot pole barn was owned by Thomas Burkhart. "Somebody driving by stopped and woke him up," Fritsch said. "He didn't even know it was on fire."
Total amount of the damages has yet to be determined, but a fifth-wheel camper parked next to the barn also was destroyed.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire has not been determined, but it did not appear suspicious, Fritsch said.
Thirty-seven firefighters, from the Bryan, Montpelier, Florence Township, Pioneer and Kunkle fire departments, were on the scene from 1:28 to 4:45 a.m.
