Ellie Shinhearl, Hilltop’s Food Service Manager, and Lori Worline, Hilltop Elementary Principal, attended the 2019 Ohio School Breakfast Challenge, Champion of Breakfast Award Luncheon.

The Ohio School Breakfast Challenge partners, State School Association Leadership, Ohio Department of Agriculture and Ohio’s First Lady congratulated the school for its “exceptional work in advancing school breakfast at Hilltop so all students are prepared to start their day ready to learn,”

According to the district, some of the advancements Hilltop cafeteria has made include implementing a variety of food choices which includes 2-3 hot dishes, two cereal choices, and five other main dish choices per day.

The cafeteria has also increased in the use of healthy commodities.

The Food and Nutrition Crew, which, in addition to Shinhearl, includes Shari Stough, Mandy King, and Sheila Stuckey, has a motto that states their desire for the students

“Made with a smile and served with a smile.”
