Accident leads to two being transported for minor injuries

After 2:30 p.m. on Friday a woman traveling west on Ohio 6 with her dog in the 22000 block of U.S. 6, in a gray Toyota Corolla S, failed to maintain proper following distance and rear ended a black Chrysler 300 carrying a woman and a young child. The latter two were transported to Defiance for treatment of minor injuries. Neither the woman or the dog in the Corolla required treatment for any injuries. A citation of failure to maintain proper following distance was pending investigation at the scene. The accident was relatively minor but significantly backed up traffic in both directions due to one lane construction areas of the road. Ohio State Highway Patrol, Defiance County Sheriff's Office, Williams County EMS and Springfield Township Fire Department responded to the scene. JOSH EWERS/Staff
