Authorities: Female seriously hurt in crash

Authorities said at about 4 p.m. Friday, a black Buick SUV traveling north on County Road 16 failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck on its passenger-side by the front end of a silver Honda Accord traveling west on U.S. 20A. The Buick rolled several times, coming to rest in a field, while the Honda struck and damaged a utility pole. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage. One female occupant of the Buick was transported to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers-Montpelier, then airlifted to a trauma center for treatment of serious injuries. She was alert and talking upon transport. The other occupant of the Buick refused transport. The male driver of the Honda was transported to CHWC-Bryan for treatment of minor, visible injuries. Williams County EMS, Brady Township Fire Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol and Hutch’s Towing and Recovery responded to the scene. The driver of the Buick was expected to be cited with failure to yield. The accident remains under investigation. JOSH EWERS/Staff
