A man suffered a gunshot wound to his neck Sunday morning west of Williams Center.

The incident was classified as an accidental shooting and the Williams County Sheriff’s Office responded with Williams County EMS at 10:09 a.m., to 10695 County Road A.

The incident report stated the man was transporting a .22-caliber Henry lever-action rifle on his lawn mower when it discharged. The bullet struck the left side of his neck. He was transported to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers-Bryan, then flown by a Samaritan medical helicopter to the Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The incident remains under investigation. No other details were released.
