Law enforcement agencies throughout northwest Ohio are looking for Zachary McCague, 27, address unknown, after pursuit out of Fulton County ended with a crash near Stryker.
At 6:30 p.m. Friday, a Fulton County sheriff’s deputy spotted McCague in what appeared to be a stolen vehicle.
“The deputy passed it, and it hit on his license plate reader as stolen,” Fulton County Sheriff Roy Miller said in a phone interview Tuesday morning. “He turned around to check it out and the driver took off on him.”
McCague crashed in Williams County, on County Road 22 near U.S. 6. The Stryker Fire Department responded with Williams County EMS and he was transported to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers-Bryan, then transferred to a hospital in Toledo.
McCague was released over the weekend without notice to law enforcement in spite of an active felony warrant from Defiance Municipal Court filed Aug. 13 charging him with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and misdemeanor warrant out of Bryan Municipal Court.
“He’s out and about and we’re hoping he doesn’t get in another vehicle,” Miller said. “If anybody sees him they should contact local law enforcement.”
