The Bryan Board of Public Affairs approved the hiring of a new engineering assistant and the reimbursement of tuition costs for another employee during a brief meeting on Tuesday.

Steven Hall will begin work today for Bryan Municipal Utilities. According to BMU documents, Hall “has a diverse background with CAD (computer-aided design), creating as-builds, topographic surveys and generating as-builds.” Board members congratulated him on the hire.

Separately, the board approved reimbursement of up to $1,200 in tuition for BMU Power Plant employee Kevin Douglass, who is working to earn an associate’s degree from Northwest State Community College.

The board also met in closed, executive session to discuss acquisition of property with no action expected upon returning to regular session.
