Boy, 16, hospitalized after crash in Bryan

A 16-year-old boy was transported via medical helicopter from Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers-Bryan to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, after a collision at Walnut and Wilson streets, outside of Walgreens in Bryan, just after 3 p.m. Wednesday. First responders on scene said the crash occurred when the driver of an older-model black Chevrolet 2500 pickup, traveling south on South Walnut Street, ran the stop sign at Wilson Street and struck a green Suzuki street bike headed east on East Wilson Street, sending the Suzuki into a light pole. The motorcyclist, who had just recently obtained his permit, sustained significant lower-body injuries. The driver of the pickup was cited for neglecting a stop sign. The pickup driver was not transported from the scene. Bryan police, fire and Williams County EMS responded to the scene. JOSH EWERS/Staff
