Tarra Troutman of Cleveland opened her PNC Bank app earlier this year and found herself overdrawn by tens of thousands of dollars due to a car she voluntarily surrendered and the actions of her bank.

During a conference call with Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), she said she had the car in 2008 to transport her two children to school and daycare and go to work in Georgia. However, once the Great Recession set in she had to voluntarily surrender the vehicle in 2010.
