City, county, state and federal offices will be closed Thursday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Trash collection in Bryan will take place as usual on both Thursday and Friday but Thursday’s recycling collection will take place on Friday.

Other schedules for the holiday include:

• Post office — Post office locations will be closed Thursday and no delivery will take place. Regular mail hours and delivery will resume Friday.

• License bureau — Closed Thursday, open Friday.

• Banks — All Bryan banks will be closed Thursday.

• YMCA — Closed Thursday, open Friday.

• Public libraries — The Williams County Public Library, with branches in Bryan, Edgerton, Edon, Pioneer and West Unity will close at 5 p.m. today and will be closed all day on Thursday for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Montpelier Public Library will be closed on Thursday and is open on Wednesday and Friday. The Defiance Public, Johnson Memorial (Hicksville) and Sherwood Branch libraries will also be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

The Bryan TimesThe Times‘ office will be closed and there will be no edition of the paper Thursday in observance of Thanksgiving. The office will remain closed on Friday. Regular publication will resume with Saturday’s edition.

• The Four County Career Center Cosmetology Salon will be closed to the public for the Thanksgiving holiday Nov. 25 and 26 and Sophomore Career Exploration Days on Dec. 2 and 3.


• First Church of Christ, 129 N. Walnut St., Bryan, will provide an “old-fashioned Thanksgiving dinner” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church. Meals are for home delivery and carryout only, no dine-in.

• City Life Center, 223 W. Washington St., Montpelier, will host the third annual free Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. Meals are carryout only.
