EDGERTON — If you live in Edgerton, you can’t say there’s nothing to do this weekend.
Edgerton Homecoming is this weekend, offering events ranging from basketball to tractor pulls to live music and, of course, a parade, among many other activities.
“We have been busy getting ready for the Homecoming this weekend,” Edgerton Village Administrator Dawn Fitzcharles said during the village council meeting Tuesday. “I would like to commend the village employees for all that they have done in preparation and will continue to do over the next couple of days.”
The events are scheduled at Miller Park.
Recent rains have made preparations somewhat difficult.
“We’ve had some challenges with the park, it’s holding a lot of water,” Fitzcharles said. “We are hoping and have revised some of the plans to try to minimize and go forward if it doesn’t dry out or if we get additional rain that we can still have the festivities out there, specifically the truck and tractor pulls.”
Events begin on Friday with a 5K at 5:30 p.m., lawn mower pulls at 7 p.m. and a poker tourney at 7:45 p.m. Live music is scheduled from 7-10 p.m.
The parade will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, starting at Miller Park and going downtown and finishing at the school.
Multiple sports tournaments are scheduled throughout the day Saturday, with a full list available at www.facebook.com/edgertonchamber/events.
The festival ends with truck and tractor pulls at 6 p.m. Saturday.
“There will also be vendors each night,” Fitzcharles said.
