Jeffery Allen Deetz was arrested Sunday evening when deputies allegedly found him living in someone else’s trailer in the 8000 block of County Road M.90, but that wasn’t the issue.
Deputies responded to a report of an “unwanted person” at 6:52 p.m. and found that Deetz, 34, of Edon, actually had the property owner’s permission to be there. However, he also had two felony warrants from the Williams County Court of Common Pleas charging him with failure to appear and failure to notify change of residence as well as a Bryan Municipal Court misdemeanor warrant charging him with failure to appear.
When authorities went to make the arrest, a fight started.
“I’ve known him since he was a little kid,” Chief Deputy Jeff Lehman said. “He got a little squirrelly and there was a tussle on the floor until deputies got the cuffs on him.”
Deputies subdued Deetz with assistance from the Montpelier Police Department and he was taken to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, where he remains.
