The Defiance County Sheriff’s Office has released more information regarding a body recovered from the Maumee Rive on May 24.
The body was recovered near the Ohio 127 Bridge after being discovered at the Cecil Road Bridge in Paulding County, found in stages of “decompensation.”
Authorities have now released a physical description, characterizing it as a that of a white male, 5’4’’, weighing approximately 153 pounds. A tattoo on the right side of the body reads ‘music’ while a tattoo on the right shoulder and back reads Gemini with stars below. The individual also had both ears pierced. Hair color and style is unknown.
At this juncture, cause of death remains unknown until toxicology reports come back. The office says they are also currently unable to determine how long the body had been in the water or how he got there. No evidence of trauma was found on the body.
“We don’t know where he’s from, the body of water he was in runs from Fort Wayne to Cecil, so somewhere in that area he entered the water,” said Defiance County Sheriff Doug Engel.
