A Montpelier man accused of raping a 12-year-old girl was among those indicted Tuesday by a Williams County grand jury.

According to a news release issued Wednesday by the county prosecutor’s office, Austin C. Schudel, 23, Montpelier, was indicted on one count of rape, a first-degree felony. Authorities allege he committed the crime on Sept. 1, 2020.

Schudel is a registered sex offender who was found guilty in 2018 of sexual imposition after Montpelier police said he had sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl.

Also indicted Tuesday were:

• Sierra J. Hatchett, 26, Defiance, on one count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony.

• Spencer L. Yoder, 18, Bryan, on one count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony.

• Travis M. Nye, 25, Montpelier, on one count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony.

• Homer W. Hulbert, 65, Montpelier, on two counts of OVI, both third-degree felonies.

• Kaleb A. Herold, 21, Napoleon, on two counts of burglary, both second-degree felonies, and one count of grand theft, a third-degree felony.

• Jared W. Lucas, 34, Bryan, on one count of OVI, a fourth-degree felony.

• Eryn L. Arend, 25, Toledo, on one count of aggravated trafficking in drugs, a second-degree felony.

• Sara M. Secord, 33, Montpelier, on one count each of corrupting another with drugs, a fourth-degree felony, and aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

• Damien J. Pursel, 26, West Unity, on two counts of grand theft, each a third-degree felony, and one count each of burglary, a second-degree felony, and breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony.

• Austin P. Swirles, 20, Fayette, on one count each of grand theft, a third-degree felony, and breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony.

• David F. Akins, 52, Wauseon, on two counts of intimidation, both third-degree felonies.

• James J. Hutchinson, 44, Montpelier, on one count of domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony.

• Devin E. Ickes, 26, Pioneer, on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

• Florence E. Hammill, 45, Hudson, Michigan, on one count each of receiving stolen property and forgery, both fifth-degree felonies.

• Nikki Swary, 33, Bryan on one count each of forgery and theft from a person in a protected class, both fifth-degree felonies.

• Joseph M. Branham, 35, Pioneer, on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

• Brandon T. Wierman, 24, Maumee, on one count of failure to comply with order or signal of police officer, a third-degree felony.

• Terry W. Leu Jr., 42, Montpelier, on one count of domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony.

• Jared J. Hummel, 29, Bowling Green, on one count of abusing harmful intoxicants, a fifth-degree felony.

• Jameson D. Love, 50, Bryan, on one count of failure to appear, a fourth-degree felony.

• Tonya M. Suffel, 50, Bryan, on one count of failure to appear, a fourth-degree felony.

• Michael C. Barnes, 26, Montpelier, on one count of failure to appear, a fourth-degree felony.

• Constance E. Roberts, 24, Montpelier, on one count of failure to appear, a fourth-degree felony.

• Andrew D. Seeley, 21, Montpelier, on one count of failure to appear, a fourth-degree felony.
