The Williams County Humane Society is in the possession of nearly 100 livestock after handling a call on Thursday.

In total, the society is now housing nearly 60 farm birds — chicken, ducks and geese — more than 30 potbellied pigs and a goat.

Alicia Zimmerman, humane officer, declined to provide details regarding the incident, as the matter was still under investigation.

“They’re all needing medical attention at this point,” she added.

Dr. Pete Bowen from Buckeye Veterinary Hospital in Edgerton is the society’s livestock vet.

Zimmerman did say the humane society is seeking donations of pine shavings, pig food and fowl food.

Once the animals have been cleared by the vet, Zimmerman said they will also need people to adopt.

Anyone willing to donate or volunteer can call the society at 419-636-2200.
