Hydrant flushing underway in Bryan

City of Bryan employees Dave Herman, left, and Rockie Beres monitor the flushing of a fire hydrant at the corner of East Maple and South Cherry streets on Monday. The annual hydrant flushing goes on all around the city through the end of the week. Beres explains that hydrant flushing ensures adequate water flow is available to firefighters, residents and businesses. It also improves water quality by clearing iron and other mineral deposits from the water mains.
