A local man wanted in the death of a 2-month-old infant remains at large as of late Friday.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Cody Jondreau, 25, who is believed to be from the Stryker area, in the death of the infant, Alexander Jondreau, who was injured last Friday and died in a Toledo hospital Tuesday.
The Lucas County Coroner’s Office on Wednesday said Alexander Jondreau died of abusive head trauma and ruled the death a homicide.
Cody Jondreau, 25, was charged Monday in Bryan Municipal Court with felonious assault, a second-degree felony. Court records allege he caused “non-accidental life-threatening trauma” to the baby.
Bryan Police Chief Chris Chapa has said Cody Jondreau was watching the child on Sept. 11 when the infant allegedly fell off the bed at the Plaza Motel on South Main Street. Jondreau rushed him to a local hospital and the baby was flown via medical helicopter to a Toledo hospital, where he died.
Chapa said Friday local authorities continue looking for Cody Jondreau.
