The Multi-Area Narcotics Task Force has a new tip line for those who wish to aid the area in its fight against opioid addiction and other drug-related issues.

The MAN Unit will no longer operate its 1-800 number and will instead receive tips and information from the community through the number 419-782-8709.

MAN Unit Commander Max Nofziger emphasized that all tips and information given to the MAN Unit can be passed on with total anonymity.

The task force’s coverage area includes Williams, Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding and Putnam counties.

The MAN Unit is, according to its mission statements, “dedicated to the citizens within its jurisdiction. The primary goal of the MAN Unit is to eliminate narcotics traffickers and other major criminal activity operating within the jurisdictions of the task force.

“This is accomplished through investigations, enforcement of the drug laws of the State of Ohio, the development of citizen support as well as multi-jurisdictional collaboration. Officers of the Multi-Area Narcotics Unit are committed in securing an atmosphere of safety and strive for a drug-free community for the citizens of the jurisdictions covered by the MAN Unit.”

Since 2015, the MAN Unit has taken 220,000 lethal doses of fentanyl off the streets.
