Montpelier man killed in crash

A Montpelier man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday evening in Ridgeville Township. According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Robert Hawk, 30, of Archbold, was southbound on Henry County Road 24 at about 6:17 p.m. when he stopped at the posted stop sign at the intersection of Ohio 34 and then proceeded into the intersection. A motorcycle operated by William Stahler, 49, of Montpelier was eastbound on Ohio 34 and collided with Hawk’s vehicle. Stahler was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Hawk was not injured in the crash. Assisting at the scene were Ridgeville Township Fire Department, Archbold EMS and an air ambulance. The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
