Another case of COVID-19 has been confirmed within the Montpelier Exempted Village Schools, the district announced Sunday in a letter addressed to the “Montpelier School Community” and posted on the district’s website.

Officials have “recently received information about at least one confirmed case of COVID-19 in a student or staff person at Montpelier Jr./Sr. High School. Cleaning and disinfecting of the exposed location has been completed.”

The district reported its first case of COVID-19 on Oct. 1.

The letter said the school will remain open and officials are “working closely with the Williams County Health Department and anyone identified as a close contact will be notified by the health department as part of COVID-19 investigation.”

The letter reminded the community to follow standard measures to curb the spread of COVID-19, including limiting contact with others, social distancing, wearing a mask while in public, hand-washing and other hygienic practices.

Anyone with additional questions is invited to contact Montpelier Superintendent Dr. Jamison Grime at 419-485-6704.
