Two Montpelier teens were flown from the scene of a one-vehicle crash Friday evening in Jefferson Township.
According to a news release from the Defiance Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol:
Ethan Pontious, 16, of Montpelier, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox northbound on County Road 13 at 7:30 p.m. Friday, when he lost control and traveled off the right side of the roadway.
The vehicle struck a mailbox and rolled several times. Pontious was ejected from the vehicle, as was a front-seat passenger, Landon Rodriguez, 18, of Montpelier.
Pontious and Rodriguez were flown via medical helicopters to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Their conditions were unavailable as of the time of the release.
A rear-seat passenger, Christopher Moor, 18, of Montpelier, was treated and released at the scene.
The Patrol was assisted on scene by the Williams County EMS, Montpelier Fire Department and John’s Towing and Recovery. The crash remains under investigation.
