A garage fire that started around 2 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of Depot Street in Edgerton was quelled in an estimated five minutes, according to Edgerton Fire Chief Scott Blue. Blue’s unofficial hypothesis regarding the blaze was that it started with the ignition of a trash pile in close proximity to the house, but an official cause has not yet been determined. A man, woman and dog escaped the fire with no injuries. Edgerton, Bryan and Butler Fire Departments, along with Williams County EMS and Edgerton police, responded to the scene.
