Bryan police identified the deceased persons found Monday afternoon in their home on Cardinal Drive as Gerald Foust, 70, and his wife, Carolynne K. Foust, 78.
“Preliminary autopsy results indicate this is a homicide/suicide,” Bryan Police Chief Chris Chapa said in a press release Wednesday morning.
Police responded to the residence, 1106A Cardinal Drive, at 12:48 p.m. Monday after a 911 call indicated there had been a death in the home.
The incident remains under investigation through the state’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation in conjunction with the Bryan Police Department.
The cause of death and time of death have not been released.
Williams County Coroner Dr. Kevin Park could not be reached for comment Wednesday morning.
“They were wonderful people. This is so awful,” a neighbor told The Bryan Times at the scene Monday afternoon. “He was always outside watering his plants. He took a lot of pride in his flowers.”
