The Ohio State Highway Patrol say a Delta woman is responsible for leaving a vehicle on the train tracks in Swanton that led to hundreds of passengers being diverted through Bryan’s Amtrak station in recent days.

Authorities have determined that on June 6, Delta’s Logan Paige Guess left her 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe on the tracks on Main Street in Swanton, north of U.S. 20 A. Ultimately, the vehicle was struck by a westbound train just before 10:20 p.m. that night, leading to a need for cleanup and track repairs. No injuries were reported in association with the collision.

Fifteen train cars were derailed and several motor vehicles parked near the scene were damaged.

No charges have been filed as of yet. Authorities say alcohol is believed at this point to have been a factor.
