A 550 ton crane and a crew from Jeffers Crane Service Inc. is preparing to lift West Unity's new water tower, with a 50,000 pound tank capable of holding 100,000 gallons, into place beginning this morning at 8 a.m. Pictured is a worker resting in the shade of the tank. Total cost of demolition of the existing 84-year-old water tower alongside construction and installation of the new tower, crafted by Maguire Iron and located at the southeast corner of Church and Madison streets is about $1.126 million. About $412,500 was paid for by the Ohio EPA.
