Authorities say a West Unity woman tried to mail drugs to an inmate at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio.
Bryan Municipal Court documents indicate that at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jessica A. Pursel, 34, of West Unity, allegedly sent a package via the U.S. Postal Service containing contraband narcotics to an inmate at CCNO, 03151 County Road 24.25, Stryker.
She was arrested and charged with third-degree felony illegal conveyance Thursday and deputies executed a search warrant at her residence Monday morning.
“It’s all still under investigation with a lot of different aspects,” Williams County sheriff’s detective Paul McCord said in a phone interview Monday morning. “Someone was trying to sneak contraband into CCNO and we found three pages coated with narcotics sent through the mail.
“We recovered two pages at CCNO and a third at the subject’s home,” he said.
Deputies executed one search warrant at 9:52 a.m. Monday, at the residence, and a second at CCNO at 10:55 a.m. K-9 Officer Ruin alerted to all three pages.
“There’s still a lot going on,” McCord said. “Lots of moving parts and this is just one aspect.”
