A Bryan man is in jail after police said he used a dog to harm another man on Sunday.
Online Bryan Municipal Court records show police arrested Jamie N. Lucas, 34, of Bryan, Tuesday night, charging him with with felonious assault, a second-degree felony.
He is accused of using a pit bull “under his supervision” to “cause or attempt to cause physical harm” to the alleged victim.
Court records indicate Lucas was arraigned Wednesday and his bond was set at $15,000 with no 10% payment allowed. His next court appearance is slated for today at 10:30 a.m.
Further details including the extent of the alleged victim’s injuries were not immediately available. Bryan Police Chief Chris Chapa was out of the office Wednesday afternoon and did not return a message from The Bryan Times seeking more information.
Lucas has been in the local court system numerous times. Most recently, he was charged in April with misdemeanor assault after police said he “did knowingly smash a wad of cash” into a woman’s face. That case is scheduled to go to trial in September.
