Gloria Ann (Lindsey) Crandall, 93, of Bryan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Community Hospitals & Wellness Centers, Bryan, after a brief illness. Gloria was born on Jan. 15, 1930, in Bryan, Ohio, to the late Hugh Ames and Audrey Elisabeth (Makley) Lindsey. She was a 1948 graduate of Bryan High School. After graduation, Gloria continued her education at The Ohio State University, where she was a sister in the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She obtained a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Ohio State in 1952. After teaching kindergarten for one year in Bryan, Gloria married the Rev. J. Louis Crandall in 1954. She supported Louis’ ministry in the Presbyterian Church in both Columbus, Ohio, and Alma, Michigan. After Louis’ death in 1976, she returned to Bryan, where she resided until her death.
Gloria was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church, Bryan. She enjoyed and was actively engaged in the Williams County Republican Party. She often recalled her days at the family cottage in Clear Lake, Indiana, with great fondness. Gloria was a passionate fan of Ohio State sports and attended all home football games for several decades. She had a soft spot for animals and children; in recent years, her grand-nephews Ryan and Austin Lowe brought her great joy.
